Meet Henry Hovan

Henry Hovan

The Little Book Place's owner, Stacy Hovan, loves to read. So it's no big surprise that her husband and son are also big readers. Stacy and Henry will both be fixtures at the book store after it opens this August. So we thought we'd do a little interview to get to know Henry.

What do you enjoy about reading?

Henry: “I just drift into a new world. When I’m bored, I read. If I don’t have a book near me, I go crazy. If you’re in a public place and it’s noisy, read a book and you can’t hear anything.”

What are you reading right now?

Henry: “Right now, I’m reading Moo and Percy Jackson Battle of the Labyrinth.”

What is your favorite book and why?

Henry: “I’m going with my heart on this one. It’s The Outsiders. I like it because Pony Boy is just like me.”

What has you the most excited about the bookstore?

Henry: “That I can work there and make some income. And I can sit down and read a book. And that I’m going to have my own shelf with my favorite books.”

Is there anything else you would like to add about yourself?

Henry: “I have an Akita named Duke who is 2 years old. His nickname is Pooky Bear. I have 5 BFFs: Ayden, Jacob, Charlotte, Lilli, and Emily. I love the outdoors, including hunting and hiking.”

Henry will be starting 5th grade in the fall. Along with his love of reading, he plays soccer, basketball and lacrosse. He will also be learning to play the tenor saxophone for 5th grade band. Henry is very excited about hosting a weekly story hour for kids at the store, and he will also have his own recommended reads shelf of “Henry’s Picks.” If you want to get your kids interested in reading, what better way than to see another kid who loves to read.

Meet Henry, Stacy & Paul at our Grand Opening, tentatively scheduled for Saturday, August 24th! More details to follow.
