A Cozy Stay at The Bookhouse Hotel

In July, I visited The Bookhouse Hotel in Kennett Square, PA with one of my friends. It is a dream place to stay for book lovers like me. We stayed in the Secret Garden room. It had two bedrooms with books on shelves all along the top of the beds. There was also a kitchenette and large bathroom with a claw foot bathtub.

My favorite part of our room was the attic space that included more shelves filled with books and places to sit and read.

finished attic space with two comfy chairs and lots of books

The bedrooms had televisions, but we didn’t turn them on at all! And I brought some books from home with me, but didn’t even open them. I spent quite some time looking through all the books in the rooms. There were also books throughout the lobby to look through. I found one I was interested in reading and read that while I was there. I didn’t have time to finish it, so I checked it out on the Libby app and listened to it on my way home.

The town of Kennett Square also has a lot to offer. We visited Talula’s Table when we arrived to get a light lunch. We picked up some snacks and drinks for our room, including a charcuterie box to snack on while we read. We ate dinner that night at La Tavola, a delicious Italian restaurant that I highly recommend.

We had breakfast the next morning at Piccola Venezia Crepes, Gelato & More for amazing crepes. We also returned later that night for some gelato. There were a lot of nice shops throughout the town too. We visited Mrs. Robinson’s Tea Shop, which also had a candy store attached with fun retro candy.

Two nights was not long enough for this trip, so we are hoping to return next year and make it an annual girls’ trip. There are more restaurants to try and shops to explore. And definitely more books to read!
