Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling

Updated: Oct 5

Magic, friendship, and the battle between good and evil, but not everyone approved.

Collage of all seven original U.S. Scholastic book covers from the Harry Potter series. Each cover features colorful illustrations of Harry and friends in scenes of magic and adventure, with bold gold title lettering and J.K. Rowling’s name at the bottom.

The series has been banned and challenged for “witchcraft” and “occult themes,” even as it inspired a generation to read.

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling follows a young boy who discovers on his eleventh birthday that he is a wizard — and that the magical world he belongs to has been hidden in plain sight all along.

He begins attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he learns to cast spells, play the sport of Quidditch, and navigate the challenges of friendship, courage, and growing up. Alongside his friends, he uncovers secrets about his past, his family, and a dark power that threatens both the magical and non-magical worlds.

Across seven books, the story weaves together themes of love, loyalty, bravery, and the choices that define who we become. It’s a journey about finding belonging, standing up to injustice, and learning that even in the darkest times, light can be found.

Did you grow up reading Harry Potter? If so, do you think it influenced your love of books? Which Hogwarts House are you? 🪄✨🧹
